Winter Daze – February half term 2012
Winter Daze for February half term is now available to view and download on the LBWF web site.
Packed with ideas and information about centres of activity for the forthcoming half term holiday. The range of things to do covers sport, crafts, gardening and much more.
As always Waltham Forest services cover a range of ages, with something to do for the under 5′s, 5 plus, 13 – 19 years…and people of all ages and abilities too.

First Aid in the Home
We have just published details of a new First Aid course we are holding in the Centre in December, 2011.
On Thursday 1st December, between 12.45 and 2.45 – read more here on our main web site. You do need to book and we do have some limited crèche spaces available, so make contact with us early to make sure of your place…

Is your bike fit enough?
Don’t forget to ring and register for your free smoothie on the day of Le Tour de Waltham Forest – Sunday 26th June 2011.
You can call on 020 8496 3000 and get involved in this great day of cycling, exercise and fun taking place in Walthamstow Town Square.
Why not go along and and check out the great cycle displays and get a free bike safety check?
On the day you can take part in bike rides around the borough. For the really keen try the bronze, silver or gold rides – from 6 to 22 miles.

National Family Week 30th May – 5th June 2011
National Family Week is a series of events and activities designed to bring families together, provide inspirational family fun and let you have access to some family focused special offers too.

The mixture of live events and venues participating are supported by politicians, celebrities and a large array of companies and service providers from all sectors. You can see their support here.
There is sure to be an event during the week near you and you can use the National Family Week web site to check out your area.

Community Forum get together!
We are holding a Barclay Community Forum get together on Thursday 24th March 2011, between 2.00 – 3.00pm.
You are very welcome to come along and help us decide how to develop the services offered in our Centre. Or if you would just like to know more about what we do in our building, do come along and meet our supportive team.
Things we are thinking about are activities for out of school hours or at weekends, fitness sessions, dance and how we might make better use of all our outdoor spaces?
We are also planning a Diversity Day on May 26th., keep us in your diary for this exciting event.

Dads get cooking!
Our first Dads Club after the holiday will be on Saturday 15th January 2011.
We’ll meet as usual from 10.00 to 12.00, with the first club activity being cooking.
So come along and test your culinary skills together.
We’ll be looking to have some fun and perhaps taste some of those great creations.
