What’s on at The Library?

You can find information about Cityread London 2013, reading groups in LBWF libraries, family arts and craft activities and Rhythm, Rap and Rhyme events.

A great range of stimulating and exciting things to explore within the context of your local library.

Look out for the featured history events – stories of migration, history of your house and Just Like Morris – great activities reminding us of our past and how our experiences now will affect all our futures.

Fantastic Fireworks 2012

lbwfFireworksPic2The Borough are holding a celebratory fireworks event this year on November 5th. You can download an LBWF event poster with the details here.

Date: 5 November 2012 Time: 5pm-10pm Location: Chestnuts Field, Waltham Forest Town Hall Complex, Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 4JF Admission: Free Event 2012 has been an amazing year, and while we know it’s not over yet we want to help you round off the Olympic Year and our Big 6 celebrations with a BANG!

This year admission to the event is free for you and your family. And as well as a stunning fireworks display there’ll be music, entertainment, fairground rides and a wide range of refreshments to snack on, so come along and join the party!

summerDaze2012pic-mA new edition of Summer Daze for 2012 is now available online from the Borough. Packed full of holiday activities, this Olympic Special Edition also features over 50 schools open for fun in the summer of 2012.

We have some great treats planned, right through to March so far. Whether you are a Cheeky Cooker, a Bubble Artist or just want to find a good read read in the library – them join the Dads Club here.

On March 12th we’ll be going to Brooks Farm in Leyton – bring some snacks with you…and watch out for the pink pig!

This great Waltham Forest publication offers parents and carers information about activities available on the borough for the forthcoming half-term break.

There are details of things to do for children under five, for children between five and ten years, as well as for young people aged eleven to nineteen years of age.

You can also find activities for the whole family – from Brooks Farm activity sessions to spectacular firework display.

Visit the bug hotel and see the sculptures...You are invited to the opening of our new wildlife learning environment at Barclay Children Centre.

Come along on Thursday 7th July 2011, between 4pm and 7 pm.

It has activities available during the week for children and young people of all ages, from the under 5′s to the 11-19 age group.

Dads get cooking!

plasticSpoonsPicOur first Dads Club after the holiday will be on Saturday 15th January 2011.

We’ll meet as usual from 10.00 to 12.00, with the first club activity being cooking.

 

So come along and test your culinary skills together.

We’ll be looking to have some fun and perhaps taste some of those great creations.
