Waltham Forest 2013 New Year Fireworks
Why not celebrate the start of the New Year with a great Borough firework display.
A date for your diary? 2nd January 2013, from 5.30pm to 8.00pm
The events will take place at two venues. See below…
Leyton Jubilee Park, Marsh Lane, Leyton E10 7DE
The Highams Park, The Charter Road, Woodford Green IG8 9RE
These free events will include fantastic firework shows choreographed to music as well as food and drink stalls available during the events.

Fantastic Fireworks 2012
The Borough are holding a celebratory fireworks event this year on November 5th. You can download an LBWF event poster with the details here.
Date: 5 November 2012 Time: 5pm-10pm Location: Chestnuts Field, Waltham Forest Town Hall Complex, Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 4JF Admission: Free Event 2012 has been an amazing year, and while we know it’s not over yet we want to help you round off the Olympic Year and our Big 6 celebrations with a BANG!
This year admission to the event is free for you and your family. And as well as a stunning fireworks display there’ll be music, entertainment, fairground rides and a wide range of refreshments to snack on, so come along and join the party!
Free Forest Film Fest…
As part of the Big 6 in Waltham Forest you can get to see free films in the borough this summer. Great fun for all the family.

2012 Festival of Sport
The FREE 2012 Festival of Sport promises to be an exhilarating weekend of sport for all the family.
You’ll be able to watch the action from the 2012 Games live on our giant screens whilst chatting to sporting professionals and local sports clubs about how to improve your game and watching sport demonstrations.

Summer Reading Challenge launches today…
The 1st July marks the start of Waltham Forest Summer Reading Challenge 2012.
Every library in the borough is taking part in the reading programme and will be supporting the Challenge with a diverse range of activities in each library. You can read more in the current Summer Daze. See below.
The challenge for children is simple: read 6 books over the summer holidays and we’ll give you a poster, stickers and prizes along the way as you complete each stage. PLUS, complete six books and you’ll receive a certificate and a medal!
So lets get reading this summer, as well as enjoying our visit to the library with puppet shows, arts and craft events, story times and more…

A new edition of Summer Daze for 2012 is now available online from the Borough. Packed full of holiday activities, this Olympic Special Edition also features over 50 schools open for fun in the summer of 2012.
